Much has been discussed concerning the value of 'Year's Best' anthologies. Should one editor's taste dictate what is considered the 'best' of any particular year?

Australian Dark Fantasy & Horror will operate differently to the others.

For one thing, it will be a complete snapshot of Australasian dark literature and will feature non-fiction essays and articles alongside the best short stories of the year.

The other important difference is the level of reader feedback. While we (the editors) are hard at work reading and selecting our choice of 'best' materials, we're calling on you to recommend works you believe are the best you've read this year. Australian Dark Fantasy & Horror is an inclusive project which will be influenced by your suggestions.

Here is your chance to have your say. Please feel free to leave a comment on this livejournal to recommend a piece of work published by an Australian (or anyone from the Oceanic region). Free and open discussion/debate is also encouraged.

For clarification on the eligibility criteria, visit the Australian Dark Fantasy & Horror website.
